What are the courses about?

Drop-ins
At the drop-ins we have computers and support available for people who want to do job searches, CVs, letters or updating their Universal Credit journals. The drop-ins are one-offs (unlike the courses, which run for several weeks), so you don’t need to make a regular commitment.
Healthy Eating
This course covers:

  • eating a balanced diet
  • good diets for different medical conditions
  • storing food and cooking safely

Vouchers for fruit and vegetables are available to people coming on this course.

Tenancy Skills
A course for new tenants, experienced tenants who want to share their knowledge and anyone in between. It covers:

  • budgeting for bills
  • the landlord’s point of view
  • repairs and other problems
  • being good neighbours and managing conflict

Word Power
Harness the power of words! In this course we’ll look at:

  • using words to persuade: job applications, appeals, getting people on your side, telling your own story
  • using words to entertain: songs, stories, jokes, games
  • improving spelling and grammar for those that want to
  •  word processing skills, again for those that want to
